We are working with a number of welcoming and inclusive secondary schools across Northampton who are seeking enthusiastic Unqualified History Teachers to join their teams immediately. This is an excellent opportunity for History graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with strong subject knowledge who are looking to gain hands-on classroom experience.
Your Role:
- Deliver engaging and well-structured History lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
- Bring historical topics to life and encourage curiosity, debate and critical thinking
- Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of learning needs and abilities
- Work collaboratively with qualified teachers and mentors to plan lessons and reflect on practice
- Take part in ongoing professional development and contribute to wider school life
What We're Looking For:
- A degree in History or a closely related subject, or strong subject knowledge
- Experience working with young people (tutoring, mentoring, classroom support or coaching - desirable but not essential)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence, organisation and a proactive approach
- A genuine passion for education and enthusiasm for History
- Ideal for those considering future teacher training (PGCE, SCITT or apprenticeship routes)
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
