This is an excellent opportunity for History graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with strong subject knowledge who are looking to gain hands-on classroom experience.

Your Role:

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured History lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
  • Bring historical topics to life and encourage curiosity, debate and critical thinking
  • Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of learning needs and abilities
  • Work collaboratively with qualified teachers and mentors to plan lessons and reflect on practice
  • Take part in ongoing professional development and contribute to wider school life

What We're Looking For:

  • A degree in History or a closely related subject, or strong subject knowledge
  • Experience working with young people (tutoring, mentoring, classroom support or coaching - desirable but not essential)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence, organisation and a proactive approach
  • A genuine passion for education and enthusiasm for History
  • Ideal for those considering future teacher training (PGCE, SCITT or apprenticeship routes)
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
