Lead and Develop Outstanding SEND Provision
Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with a well-regarded secondary school in Northamptonshire seeking an experienced and dedicated SENDCO to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate SEND professional to play a key role in shaping and developing an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
The successful candidate will lead and manage SEND provision across the school, ensuring students with additional needs receive the support, guidance and opportunities they need to achieve their full potential. This is a non-teaching SENDCO position, allowing the successful applicant to focus fully on strategic leadership and the continued development of SEND provision.
The Role:
- Lead and manage the school's SEND provision.
- Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
- Coordinate effective support plans, interventions and reviews for students with SEND.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to promote inclusive classroom practice.
- Liaise with parents, carers, external agencies and local authority services.
- Monitor student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND provision.
- Support and develop staff through training, guidance and best practice.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or a willingness to work towards the qualification.
- Previous experience in a SENDCO or SEND leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and the SEND Code of Practice.
- Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- A genuine commitment to inclusion and improving outcomes for all learners.
