As an SEN Maths Teacher, you will use your strong subject knowledge to make Maths accessible, engaging and achievable for learners with a range of additional needs. You may be supporting pupils who have experienced disrupted education, are working below age-related expectations, or require a more individualised and supportive approach to learning. The ideal SEN Maths Teacher will: Have strong Maths subject knowledge and the ability to confidently teach Maths across a range of abilities and age groups. Have experience working with or supporting vulnerable children, young people or adults, ideally within education, care, mentoring, coaching or a similar setting. Be confident adapting lessons and using different approaches to engage learners with SEN, SEMH, ASC or other additional needs. Build positive, trusting relationships with students and provide consistent encouragement and support. Be patient, resilient and able to remain calm when managing challenging situations. Have high expectations for every learner while recognising that individual students may require different levels of support.
