We’re recruiting a Pastoral Leader for a friendly and well‑established secondary school in Northampton who is passionate about student well‑being and enjoys working closely with pupils, families and staff to help students overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
Role
- Lead the pastoral support for a designated year group.
- Build strong relationships with students and provide day‑to‑day guidance and encouragement.
- Work with students to improve behaviour, attendance and engagement with learning.
- Meet regularly with parents and carers to discuss progress and put support plans in place where needed.
- Work alongside teachers, senior leaders and external agencies to ensure students receive the right support.
- Respond to safeguarding and welfare concerns in line with school procedures.
- Help create a positive school culture where students are encouraged to take responsibility for their choices.
- Support the delivery of assemblies, rewards, interventions and personal development initiatives.

- Experience working with young people in a school, youth work, mentoring or pastoral setting.
- A calm, approachable and resilient manner.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Confident dealing with challenging situations in a fair and consistent way.
- Organised, proactive and able to manage a varied workload.
- Committed to helping every student succeed, whatever their starting point.
