Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, your responsibilities include
- Supporting students on a one to one basis and in small groups to help them access the curriculum.
- Working alongside class teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Encouraging students to develop confidence, resilience, and independence.
- Supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including SEND.
- Assisting with targeted interventions to improve academic progress and wellbeing.
- Promoting positive behaviour and helping to create a calm, supportive learning environment.
- Preparing learning resources and providing classroom support where required.
- Building positive relationships with students, teachers, parents, and the wider school community.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school setting (transferable experience welcomed).
- A caring, patient, and encouraging approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students from a variety of backgrounds.
- Confidence supporting pupils with different learning needs and abilities.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to use initiative.
- A genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
