We are seeking to appoint a skilled and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a background in English to join a supportive and forward‑thinking secondary school in the Wellingborough/Rushden area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced TA or HLTA with strong English subject knowledge who is passionate about supporting students' progress in literacy and English across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting teaching and learning in English lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Delivering pre‑planned interventions and small group sessions in literacy and English
- Occasionally covering classes in the absence of the class teacher (where appropriate)
- Supporting students with varying needs, including SEND and EAL learners
- Contributing to assessment, feedback, and tracking of student progress
- Working collaboratively with the English department and wider pastoral team
What we are looking for:
- Hold HLTA status or have relevant experience working at HLTA level
- Have a strong background in English or a related subject
- Be confident supporting whole classes, small groups, and individual students
- Have excellent communication and behaviour management skills
