Tradewind Recruitment are currently working with an Alternative Provision setting who are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Employability Teacher/Tutor to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people who may have struggled within mainstream education and wants to make a genuine difference to their future.
The Role
You will deliver engaging and practical employability-focused sessions to young people, helping them develop the skills and confidence required for life beyond education. You will work with small groups of up to just 6 students, allowing you to build strong relationships and provide a high level of individual support. The school operates a 4-day working week, offering an excellent work-life balance while still providing a rewarding full-time role.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging employability and vocational sessions.
- Supporting students to develop workplace-ready skills and confidence.
- Preparing young people for further education, training and employment.
- Building positive and trusting relationships with students.
- Adapting sessions to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
- Supporting students who may have SEMH, behavioural or additional learning needs.
- Working alongside colleagues to support students' wider development and progression.
- Maintaining a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced working with young people, ideally within education, training, employment or Alternative Provision.
- Passionate about supporting students who face barriers to learning.
- Confident managing behaviour and building positive relationships.
- Able to deliver engaging, practical and accessible sessions.
- Patient, resilient and adaptable.
- Motivated by helping young people achieve their potential.
A formal teaching qualification is desirable, but relevant experience and a strong understanding of employability and supporting young people will also be considered.
