Music Teacher needed for Gateshead! Are you an enthusiastic and qualified Music Teacher looking for flexible and rewarding teaching work in the Gateshead area? Our specialist education agency is seeking talented professionals to join our supply pool! We are recruiting Music Teachers for both short-term and long-term covers in secondary schools across Gateshead. This role offers you the flexibility of supply work while allowing you to share your passion for music education.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging Music lessons across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4), which may include GCSE groups.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching & Delivery: Delivering high-quality, engaging Music lessons to students of varying abilities, covering performance, composition, and listening skills.
  • Curriculum: Following the school's scheme of work and curriculum, ensuring continuity of learning.
  • Classroom Management: Maintaining a positive, safe, and productive learning environment in line with school policies.
  • Assessment: Assessing students' work and providing constructive feedback (for longer-term assignments).
  • Flexibility: Being available for bookings on short notice (daily supply) or committing to longer planned absences (long-term supply).
What We're Looking For:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential for teaching in UK state schools.
  • Experience: Proven experience teaching Music at the secondary level (KS3 and KS4). Experience with different instruments and music technology is highly desirable.
  • Passion: A genuine enthusiasm for Music and the ability to inspire young people.
  • Adaptability: The ability to quickly adapt to new school environments and schemes of work.
  • Safeguarding: A valid Enhanced DBS check registered with the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
