A successful secondary school in Ealing is seeking a dedicated Music Technician to support the delivery of Music, Dance and Drama across the school. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for music, sound and lighting, technical theatre, or arts administration to join a creative and thriving performing arts faculty.
About the Role
You will provide technical and administrative support to ensure the smooth delivery of curricular and extra-curricular activities. Working closely with the Head of Music and wider faculty staff, you will play a key role in supporting performances, examinations, rehearsals and school events.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for concerts, productions, open evenings and other school events.
- Design and operate sound and lighting systems for rehearsals and performances.
- Set up, prepare and maintain instruments, sound equipment and technological resources.
- Record and manage GCSE and A Level Music performances for coursework submission.
- Support the administration of instrumental lessons, timetables, registers and instrumental hire.
- Assist with communications, permissions and organisation of departmental events.
- Run and support a student technical team and extracurricular tech club.
- Liaise with IT staff and external agencies regarding equipment maintenance and specialist support.
- Support the wider life of the school through extracurricular music and performing arts activities.
- Monitor, maintain and safely store departmental equipment and resources.

- Have experience with sound, lighting or technical theatre equipment (desirable).
- Possess excellent organisational and administrative skills.
