Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging Science lessons to secondary-aged students who may have experienced barriers to mainstream education. The successful candidate will build positive relationships, adapt teaching to meet a range of needs, and create a safe, supportive learning environment where students can thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Differentiating learning to meet the needs of individual students
  • Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage student engagement
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, senior leaders, and external agencies
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback

Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level
  • A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies
  • Experience within an Alternative Provision, PRU, SEMH setting, or working with vulnerable learners is desirable but not essential
  • A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
  • Commitment to helping students achieve positive outcomes
