Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with a range of mainstream and specialist schools in Milton Keynes to recruit dedicated SEN Level 2 Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs. We have opportunities to suit your lifestyle, including long‑term positions, short‑term contracts and day‑to‑day supply.
As a SEN Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with a wide range of special educational needs, helping them access learning, build confidence and achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Work alongside class teachers to deliver engaging learning activities.
- Support pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Language needs (SLCN), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and other additional needs.
- Use a variety of communication and intervention strategies, including PECS, Makaton, visual timetables and sensory approaches where appropriate.
- Promote positive behaviour through consistent behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies.
- Assist with personal care where required.
- Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or have relevant SEN support experience.
- Have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
- Be patient, caring and adaptable.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through Tradewind Recruitment.
