Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking dedicated and passionate GCSE Tutors to support students across Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes through 1:1, face-to-face tuition. Working through local authority referrals, you will provide personalised academic support to students who require additional intervention in English, Maths and Science. Many of the young people you will work with will have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and may have experienced significant disruption to their education. This rewarding opportunity is ideal for qualified teachers, experienced tutors, graduates, or education professionals who are passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their GCSE goals.
Responsibilities
- Delivering engaging 1:1 tuition in English, Maths and/or Science
- Planning and adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs
- Supporting students working towards GCSE qualifications
- Building positive and professional relationships with students and families
- Monitoring progress and providing regular feedback
- Creating a supportive learning environment that promotes confidence and independence
- Working collaboratively with local authorities and the wider educational team
Ideal Candidate
- Experience teaching or tutoring GCSE-level students
- A strong understanding of the English, Maths or Science curriculum
- Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH, or additional learning needs
- Knowledge of EHCPs and strategies to support individual learning plans
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A patient, flexible and empathetic approach
- A full UK driving licence (desirable)
