Tradewind Recruitment are in partnership agreements with two groups of SEND Schools and we are currently seeking flexible and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis within our SEND Schools across Teesside. You will be supporting pupils aged 2-19 who are autistic or have profound, moderate, severe or complex learning difficulties. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a passion for inclusive education who want to gain experience across different year groups and work with children with special educational needs.

The role will involve:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils
  • Assisting with learning activities and adapting materials to meet pupil needs
  • Supporting children with their social and emotional development
  • Helping to implement Educational health care plans (EHCPs) and behaviour strategies
  • Working closely with class teachers and the wider SEND teams

What we're looking for:

  • Experience supporting children with additional needs (school, care or youth work settings are all welcome)
  • A calm, patient and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • A Level 2/3 TA qualification is desirable but not essential
