Midday Lunch Supervisor (SMSA) - West Acton Primary School

11:20am-1:30pm, £15 per hour, 5 Days per Week, Long-Term or Supply

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a mainstream primary school in the West Acton area to recruit a School Meals Supervisory Assistant (SMSA) to support during the lunchtime period. This role is available on either a long-term basis or as regular supply, depending on your availability.

The school is well located with excellent transport links, within walking distance of Central Line and Piccadilly Line stations, making it easily accessible from across West London.

This is a welcoming and well-organised primary school with clear routines and expectations in place for lunchtime supervision. The leadership team is supportive and values the role SMSAs play in maintaining a calm, safe and positive lunchtime environment.

The Role

As a Midday Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising pupils during lunch breaks in the playground and dining hall
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and safe play
  • Supporting pupils with social interaction and routines
  • Managing minor incidents and reporting concerns to senior staff
  • Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
  • Assisting with transitions between lunch and afternoon lessons

This role runs Monday to Friday, 11:20am-1:30pm, and would suit someone looking for part-time work during the school day.

Requirements

The school is looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children (school or childcare setting preferred)
  • Is calm, approachable and confident managing groups of children
  • Understands the importance of safeguarding
  • Is reliable and able to commit to regular work
  • Can work independently while following school policies

No formal qualifications are required, but prior experience in a school or childcare environment is highly desirable.

Pay and Contract

£15 per hour, 5 days per week, Long-term placement or regular supply available, PAYE employment.
