We are seeking a committed and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our inclusive and supportive secondary school in the London Borough of Merton. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and helping them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
- Support students across the curriculum within mainstream classrooms
- Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and pastoral staff to implement tailored support strategies
- Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and engagement
- Support students' emotional wellbeing and inclusion within school life
- Have experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential)
- Be patient, caring, and resilient
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
