Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting a Mental Health Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming and supportive school in the Corby area. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing and mental health.
The Role
As a Mental Health TA, you will support pupils who may experience anxiety, trauma, low mood, or behavioural challenges. You will work on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to help pupils regulate emotions, develop coping strategies, and engage positively with learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with mental health and emotional needs
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
- Helping pupils access learning in a calm and supportive manner
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or mental health needs
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A genuine passion for supporting pupil wellbeing
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
