Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance Assistant to join a thriving secondary school in Blakely, Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with previous experience in an educational setting.

Only applicants with previous finance experience gained within a school, college, academy, or other educational setting will be considered for this position.

Role

As Finance Assistant, you will support the school’s finance function, ensuring that financial processes are completed accurately and efficiently. You will work closely with the School Business Manager and the wider administrative team.

Responsibilities
  • Process purchase orders, invoices and payments
  • Maintain accurate financial records and databases
  • Support budget monitoring and reporting
  • Reconcile accounts and financial transactions
  • Assist with payroll administration where required
  • Manage petty cash and school income
  • Liaise with suppliers and external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with school financial procedures and policies
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance department
Qualifications
  • Previous finance experience within a school, academy, college, or other educational setting
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience using financial management systems
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Pay Rates
  • £100 per day – Applicants meeting the essential requirements
  • £110 per day – Applicants holding a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Finance
  • £120 per day – Applicants with at least 2 years’ experience working in an administrative setting within a school
