Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed Male PE Teacher for a long-term position at a well-regarded secondary school in the Cheshire West area. The role is available to start ASAP and will run through to Christmas, providing an excellent opportunity for a PE Teacher looking for a consistent, long-term teaching position this academic year.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Physical Education Teacher to join a supportive secondary school environment and make a positive contribution to students' physical development, confidence and enjoyment of sport. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver engaging PE lessons across the secondary age range, maintaining high expectations for behaviour, participation and achievement.

The Role

As a Male PE Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality Physical Education lessons, adapting your teaching to meet the needs and abilities of students across the school. The successful candidate will:

  • Teach engaging and well-structured PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Encourage students to participate positively in physical activity and develop their sporting skills.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and purposeful learning environment.
  • Plan and deliver lessons that cater for a range of abilities and sporting interests.
  • Maintain high expectations of student behaviour, effort and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider PE department and school staff.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate.
  • Build positive relationships with students and provide appropriate support and encouragement.
  • Follow school policies relating to safeguarding, behaviour and professional conduct.

The Ideal PE Teacher

The school is looking for a teacher who is passionate about Physical Education and can inspire students to engage positively with sport and physical activity. You will ideally have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised equivalent.
  • Experience teaching PE within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge across the secondary PE curriculum.
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated PE lessons.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A positive and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
  • The ability to build strong professional relationships with students and colleagues.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
