1:1 Teaching Assistant - ASD Support (Year 3) - £90-£100 per day (PAYE), Immediate Start

Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

Contract: Full-time, 5 days per week (until the end of the academic year, with potential to become permanent)

Tradewind Recruitment is thrilled to partner with a thriving two-form entry Catholic junior school in Hemel Hempstead to recruit a committed and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant for an immediate start.

This rewarding role involves providing dedicated support to a lively and friendly Year 3 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Significant progress has been made over the past year - having been pre-verbal previously, communication skills are developing rapidly, along with social engagement. The pupil responds exceptionally well to sensory-based learning and activities, and the Headteacher is seeking someone who can continue this progress through consistent, nurturing support.

The Role

  • Provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with ASD
  • Deliver and support sensory-based learning activities
  • Encourage communication, engagement, and emotional regulation

  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and wider staff team

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has experience supporting children with ASD and/or sensory needs
  • Is patient, calm, and enthusiastic
  • Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils
  • Is confident supporting both 1:1 and whole-class activities
  • Is available full-time for an immediate start
