Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a dedicated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for pupils within a school in Loughborough. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in a child's educational journey by helping them feel supported, safe, and able to succeed within the classroom environment.
The Role
- Provide focused 1:1 support for pupils with behavioural needs
- Use effective de-escalation and behaviour management strategies to support positive outcomes
- Work closely with the class teacher and external professionals to follow an individual support plan
- Encourage the pupil's engagement in learning and classroom activities
- Maintain a calm, positive, and consistent approach throughout the school day
- Record behaviour incidents, progress, and interventions when required
- Build a trusting and supportive relationship with the pupil to encourage confidence and development
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or challenging behaviour
- Team-Teach training, or willingness to complete relevant training
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour support
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to adapt quickly to changing situations within the classroom
- A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
