About the Role

This is an ideal role for experienced cover supervisors, higher-level teaching assistants (HLTAs), or graduates looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing a career in teaching. As a Cover Supervisor, you will not be required to plan or mark lessons. Instead, your primary focus will be leading the classroom and ensuring students remain focused and engaged.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise whole classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 during the short-term absence of teachers.
- Deliver pre-set lesson plans and learning activities left by the subject teacher.
- Maintain a constructive, safe, and positive learning environment by managing student behaviour in line with school policies.
- Assist students with any general questions regarding the work.
- Collect completed work at the end of the lesson and provide brief feedback to the returning teacher.
