Art & Design Technology Technician (Full-Time, 5 Days per Week)

The Role

As an Art & DT Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across the Art and Design Technology departments. You will work closely with teaching staff to prepare materials, maintain equipment, and ensure a safe and organised working environment for students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and setting up materials, tools, and equipment for lessons
  • Supporting practical lessons across a range of disciplines including Art, Resistant Materials, Graphics, and Textiles
  • Maintaining and organising workshops, studios, and storage areas
  • Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Assisting with stock control and ordering of supplies
  • Providing technical support to staff and students during lessons

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working as an Art/DT Technician in a school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge across Art and Design Technology disciplines
  • A relevant degree is preferred
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work
  • A strong understanding of health and safety within a workshop or studio environment
