The large and successful school based in Lewisham is looking for a Teaching Assistant/Sports Specialist to join them 5 days a week, as soon as possible. The school caters for students from 11 to 14 years old with SEMH, EBD and Challenging Behaviour. The school and staff aim to give their pupils the skills to move forward into mainstream education. The curriculum is highly personalised and creative, aiming to develop pupil voice throughout all activities and lessons.
The school is looking for a Sports Specialist, and you will be working in the PE department with a range of ages and needs. It is important that you not only have experience working with challenging behaviour but also have a basic knowledge and love for Sports.
Key Responsibilities:- Assisting within the PE Department.
- Collaborating with teachers and other staff to provide a safe and nurturing environment for students.
- Assisting with communication needs and promoting positive behaviour.
- Supporting students with physical and emotional needs.
- Experience supporting young people with special needs, SEMH / EBD.
- Previous support work, TA or LSA work within a school or other child-related experience.
- Enthusiastic, positive and friendly approach.
- A caring and professional manner, willing to support with the personal care of pupils.
- Must have legal right to work in the UK.
