Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Edgware, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for a caring, patient and resilient Teaching Assistant who is passionate about working with children with SEND and wants to make a genuine difference to their learning, development and independence.

The Role
You will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to provide individualised support for pupils with a range of learning, communication and developmental needs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support
- Supporting pupils with Autism and complex learning needs
- Helping pupils develop communication and social skills
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
- Following EHCP targets and individual support plans
- Encouraging independence and life skills
- Supporting pupils to engage with classroom activities
- Creating a calm, safe and nurturing environment
- Working closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who is nurturing, patient, adaptable and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs. Experience within a special school, SEN provision, mainstream school, ARP or alternative provision would be highly desirable. Experience with Autism, SLD, MLD, communication difficulties, sensory needs, challenging behaviour, PECS, Makaton or personal care would be advantageous.
