We are working with a specialist SEN school in Southwark supporting pupils with severe and complex learning needs, including PMLD, who are seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team.
This is a highly rewarding role for a teacher who is confident delivering highly individualised learning, leading a classroom team, and adapting teaching approaches for pupils with complex needs.
About the RoleYou will be responsible for leading learning within a specialist classroom environment where pupils require highly tailored educational provision. Lessons are often sensory-based, highly structured, and focused on communication, engagement, and functional life skills.
Key responsibilities include:- Planning and delivering highly differentiated lessons for pupils with complex needs, including PMLD
- Leading a classroom team of teaching assistants to ensure consistent and effective support
- Using sensory, communication, and therapeutic approaches to engage learners
- Tracking and assessing progress in line with individual education plans
- Working closely with therapists, families, and wider support staff
- Creating a safe, structured, and highly supportive learning environment
The school is looking for someone who has:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience working with SEN, ideally within complex needs or specialist settings
