We are seeking a dedicated and organised Medical & First Aid Lead to join our team at a secondary school in Tower Hamlets. This is a vital role supporting the health, safety, and wellbeing of our students, particularly those with additional and complex medical needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating and overseeing all medical needs within the school
- Maintaining accurate student health records and care plans
- Managing and monitoring medication on-site, liaising with parents/carers as needed
- Acting as the lead first aider and responding to medical emergencies
- Ensuring first aid provision across the school, including staff training and equipment checks
- Supporting students with complex or ongoing health conditions
- Working closely with the school nurse, safeguarding team, and external professionals
- Organising medical room provision and supporting health-related initiatives
Requirements:
- First aid qualification (or willingness to train)
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
- Ability to remain calm and act decisively in emergencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
