Tradewind Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in Southwark to appoint an experienced and highly organised Business Manager to join their leadership team from January.
This is a full-time role, working 5 days per week, and offers an excellent opportunity to play a key strategic role in the effective management and development of the school's business operations.
The Role:
As Business Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the school's financial, HR, premises, and administrative functions. Working closely with the Headteacher and Governors, you will ensure the school's resources are managed efficiently to support high-quality teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic financial planning, budgeting, and monitoring
- Oversight of HR processes including recruitment, payroll, and staff contracts
- Management of premises, health & safety, and compliance
- Line management of administrative and support staff
- Supporting the Headteacher and Governors with reporting and strategic decision-making
The Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience as a School Business Manager or in a similar senior business/finance role
- Strong knowledge of school finance, HR, and operational management
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to work strategically while managing day-to-day operations
