About the role
Tradewind Recruitment is working with primary schools across Harrow to find an experienced Year 2 Teacher for September 2026, available full-time or part-time.
Year 2 is a significant year - children consolidate their KS1 learning and are assessed through statutory teacher assessments at the end of the year. You will deliver the Primary National Curriculum with confidence, maintaining high expectations across reading, writing and mathematics while keeping learning engaging and accessible.
You will use assessment data to monitor pupil progress, adapt your planning and work closely with teaching assistants and SENCO colleagues to ensure all learners, including those with SEND and EAL, are fully supported.
What we are looking for:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
- KS1 teaching experience, ideally in Year 2
- Confident knowledge of KS1 statutory teacher assessments and moderation processes
- Strong phonics and early reading expertise
- Skilled in using assessment data to inform planning and intervention
- Experience supporting SEND, EAL and mixed-ability learners
- Clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
