KS2 Teaching Assistant (Year 5 & 6) – Primary School – Haringey
Start Date: 1st September 2026
Contract: Full Academic Year (September 2026 - July 2027)
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 4:00pm
Daily Rate: £100 - £108 per day (PAYE)
Overview
SANZA Teaching Agency is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Haringey to recruit a confident and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support across Year 5 and Year 6 for the 2026/27 academic year. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for education, who enjoys working within upper KS2 pupils and is confident supporting pupils as they prepare for transition to secondary school. The school is looking for someone who can build strong relationships, manage behaviour effectively, and contribute to a positive and engaging learning environment. There is also the opportunity to earn overtime by covering breakfast club and afterschool club.
Responsibilities
- Providing in‑class support across Year 5 and Year 6, working with pupils of mixed abilities.
- Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and well‑structured lessons.
- Managing behaviour effectively to maintain a calm, focused and productive learning environment.
- Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions to support pupil progress and close learning gaps.
- Promoting independence, confidence and a positive attitude to learning.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting pupils across KS2, ideally within upper KS2 (Year 5 or Year 6).
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to engage and motivate pupils.
- A proactive, adaptable and team‑focused approach.
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
