We are currently recruiting for experienced and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to join a supportive specialist education setting working with secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is an excellent opportunity for an HLTA, experienced Teaching Assistant, or education professional who is passionate about making a positive difference to young people who may have faced barriers to learning. The successful candidates will play a key role in supporting pupils' educational and personal development.
Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
- Covering lessons when required to ensure continuity of learning
- Delivering intervention programmes and small group activities
- Supporting pupils with engagement, confidence, and progress
- Building positive relationships and providing consistent support
- Working closely with teaching staff and the wider support team
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- HLTA status or significant experience working as a Teaching Assistant in an education setting
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour
- A calm, resilient, and positive approach
- The ability to build strong relationships with young people
- Confidence supporting learning and managing classroom environments
This role would suit someone who enjoys a varied day, combining classroom support, lesson delivery, and targeted intervention work to help pupils achieve their potential.
