Salary: Up to Leadership Scale

Contract: Interim – September 2026 to July 2027

Role Overview

As Interim Head of School, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across the setting, ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning and safeguarding are maintained throughout the academic year. You will lead the school through a key academic term, maintaining high standards while fostering a positive and nurturing culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support staff across the school
  • Drive high standards within EYFS provision
  • Support pupils with additional needs and ensure inclusive practice
  • Maintain a positive and nurturing learning environment
  • Work closely with governors, staff and families
  • Oversee curriculum delivery, assessment and pupil progress
  • Manage day‑to‑day operations of the school effectively

Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven leadership experience within an EYFS setting
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusive education
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team effectively
  • A passion for early years education and child development
  • Either existing headship experience or an experienced EYFS Leader/Deputy ready to step up
