The Role
As Head of Drama, you will:
- Lead and develop the Drama curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Inspire students to develop their confidence, creativity and performance skills
- Deliver engaging, imaginative and challenging Drama lessons
- Support and develop other members of the department
- Help shape the future direction and vision of Drama within the school
- Encourage students to participate in performances, productions and wider creative opportunities
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through your passion for the performing arts
What the school are looking for
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- QTS and a relevant Drama/Performing Arts qualification
- Strong experience teaching Drama within a secondary setting
- The ability to inspire and engage students of different abilities
- A genuine passion for Drama and the performing arts
- The confidence and enthusiasm to lead a subject area
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- A creative, positive and collaborative approach
Experienced Heads of Department are welcome, but so are ambitious Drama teachers who feel ready to take the next step
