Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be supporting this Client, a successful and inclusive secondary school based in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, in their search for an enthusiastic and talented Food Technology & Hospitality Teacher to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis from September.

This Client is seeking a passionate Food Technology & Hospitality specialist who can inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to contribute to Key Stage 5 being advantageous.

The successful candidate will join a dedicated Design Technology department committed to delivering engaging and practical lessons that develop students\' culinary skills, nutritional understanding and knowledge of the hospitality industry while promoting high levels of achievement.

The Role

As a Food Technology & Hospitality Teacher, you will

  • Deliver high-quality Food Technology and Hospitality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory-based learning experiences.
  • Develop students\' understanding of nutrition, food preparation, food safety and hospitality principles.
  • Monitor and assess student progress effectively.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development.
  • Support students in achieving excellent academic outcomes.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety within practical learning environments.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
  • Participate fully in the wider life of the school.

Qualifications Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • A degree in Food Technology, Hospitality, Catering, Nutrition or a closely related subject.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • A strong understanding of the National Curriculum and vocational qualifications where applicable.
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements within food preparation environments.
