The RoleAs an English & Humanities Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers and support students across KS3 and KS4. You will play a key role in helping students engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential in subjects including English, History, Geography, Religious Studies, and Citizenship.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Supporting students during English and Humanities lessons
- Working one-to-one and in small groups to improve literacy, confidence, and academic attainment
- Assisting students with classwork, coursework, revision sessions, and exam preparation
- Supporting the delivery of engaging lessons across English Language, English Literature, and Humanities subjects
- Encouraging positive learning behaviours and active classroom participation
- Supporting students with additional learning needs where required
- Assisting teachers with lesson preparation, resources, and classroom activities
- Promoting reading, discussion, critical thinking, and independent learning
- Building positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents
- Gaining invaluable school-based experience ahead of teacher training
