Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a specialist provision to recruit a skilled and motivated Design Technology & Construction Teacher to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on educator who can engage learners through practical subjects, helping them develop real-world skills, confidence, and a positive relationship with education.
The Role: You will deliver engaging DT and construction-based lessons to small groups of students, many of whom may have experienced disruption in their education. The ability to adapt lessons, maintain clear structure, and manage behaviour positively is essential. Your teaching will focus not only on curriculum outcomes but also on building resilience, teamwork, and independence.
We're looking for a Teacher who:
- Holds QTS or has strong experience teaching DT, construction, or vocational subjects
- Has a background in carpentry, construction, or a related trade (highly desirable)
- Is confident managing challenging behaviour using a calm, consistent approach
- Can engage and motivate students through practical, skills-based learning
- Builds strong relationships and acts as a positive role model
