Tradewind Recruitment are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support schools in the Gainsborough area, working with pupils who have a range of Special Educational Needs. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to help students who may need additional support to access their learning and develop key academic and social skills. Pupils may have a variety of needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, learning difficulties, or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
You will work alongside teachers and wider support staff to provide tailored support, helping students stay engaged in lessons while building their confidence and independence. This position would suit individuals who are enthusiastic about supporting young people and making a positive impact in an educational setting.
The Role
- Provide in-class support for pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs
- Deliver one-to-one and small group assistance to support learning
- Work with teachers to adapt activities to suit individual learning requirements
- Support pupils with behaviour management and emotional regulation
- Encourage positive participation, independence and confidence in learning
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
- Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs and other support professionals
Requirements
- Have experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, sports coaching or similar backgrounds are welcomed)
- Have previous experience supporting students with SEN (advantageous but not essential)
- Be patient, flexible and resilient when supporting students
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be committed to supporting pupils with additional needs
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
Pay
