The Role

Are you a passionate Youth Worker looking to transition into a specialist educational setting? We are seeking a dedicated individual to support pupils within a highly regarded SEMH and ASC School in Leyland. This role is perfect for those with a background in community youth work, sports coaching, or residential care who want to make a long-term impact. You will work in a small classroom setting with a maximum of 5 pupils, focusing on those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC).

Your Responsibilities

  • Engagement & Mentoring: Act as a role model, focusing on emotional regulation rather than traditional academic instruction.
  • Small Group Support: Work within a tight-knit group of 5 pupils, helping them navigate social interactions and manage anxieties.
  • De-escalation: Use calm, trauma-informed techniques to maintain a safe learning environment.
  • 1:1 Support: Lead breakout sessions to help pupils build resilience and life skills.

Why Join This Leyland School?

This school offers a non-standard educational environment where the focus is on the 'whole child.'
