If you are a qualified Level 4 HLTA and your current agency is not offering consistent bookings, clear communication or fair pay, it may be time to consider a change. Tradewind Recruitment is expanding its network of experienced HLTAs to support mainstream primary schools across West London. We work closely with a wide range of 1, 2 and 3-form entry schools who rely on us for confident Higher Level Teaching Assistants to cover classes, deliver interventions and support across year groups. We are specifically looking for strong HLTAs who are confident leading whole classes when required.
The Type of Work Available
- Cover classes across EYFS, KS1 or KS2
- Deliver pre-planned PPA lessons
- Lead small group interventions in literacy and maths
- Support SEN pupils within mainstream classrooms
- Step into short-term absence cover
- Provide leadership support across phases
Some schools use HLTAs regularly for PPA cover. Others need confident staff who can step into a class at short notice and maintain strong behaviour and learning expectations. If you are capable and reliable, there is regular work available.
Why Many HLTAs Prefer Daily Supply
- Flexibility around your availability
- No long-term planning pressure
- Broader experience across year groups
- The chance to build relationships with multiple schools
- A stepping stone into long-term HLTA or unqualified teacher roles
- Better work-life balance
Many of our HLTAs start on supply and then secure long-term or permanent positions in schools that value them.
Why Work with Tradewind Recruitment?
We know many agencies treat HLTAs as an afterthought. We do not. When you join Tradewind, you receive:
- PAYE only - no umbrella companies or unexpected deductions
- Weekly pay with transparent rates
- A dedicated consultant who understands the difference between TA and HLTA responsibilities
- Schools that request our HLTAs back due to quality
- Honest conversations about where you will thrive
- Access to free CPD through our partnership with The National College
- Support if you want to move into a long-term or permanent role
We build consistent working relationships. Reliable HLTAs are highly valued by our partner schools.
One HLTA recently shared: "I was struggling to get regular HLTA cover work elsewhere. Tradewind understood my experience and started booking me into schools that actually use HLTAs properly. I now have consistent weekly work."
