Do you have the patience, resilience and enthusiasm to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Worker to join a specialist education setting in Leicester, supporting students who present with challenging behaviour and complex SEMH needs.
About the Role
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Support students displaying challenging behaviour, helping them regulate their emotions and manage difficult situations.
- Implement positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students.
- Encourage engagement, confidence and positive choices.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider support team to create a safe, supportive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH or additional needs.
- Is patient, resilient, empathetic and consistent.
- Can remain calm and confident in challenging situations.
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Is passionate about helping young people reach their full potential.
- Experience in a school, PRU, alternative provision, residential care or youth work setting would be highly beneficial.
