The Opportunity
Are you a passionate Science Teacher looking for your next challenge? A vibrant, forward-thinking mainstream secondary school in Lancaster is seeking a dedicated educator to join their Science department immediately. This role offers excellent continuity, starting straight away to support students through the end of the academic year, with a planned extension into the next term (September-December). You will be teaching general Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, inspiring the next generation of innovators, critical thinkers, and problem solvers.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver High-Quality Lessons: Plan and teach engaging, high-quality Science lessons across KS3 and KS4 that cater to a diverse range of learning abilities.
- Foster Curiosity: Create a stimulating classroom environment where practical experiments and scientific theory come to life.
- Assess and Track Progress: Monitor student development, provide constructive feedback, and prepare pupils for upcoming assessments.
- Collaborate: Work closely with a supportive department and dedicated laboratory technicians to ensure safe, effective learning.
What We Are Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS (Early Career Teachers are welcome to apply).
- A degree in a scientific discipline (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build rapport quickly with students.
- A current enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Right to work in the UK.
