Tradewind Recruitment are delighted to be working with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Potters Bar, who are seeking a dedicated KS2 1:1 Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This role is initially offered on a two-term temporary contract, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate. The school is open to both part-time and full-time applicants, offering flexibility to suit the successful candidate.
The Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting a Key Stage 2 pupil, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised support throughout the school day. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil
- Supporting learning both in and out of the classroom
- Implementing strategies and interventions recommended by the SEN team
- Encouraging independence, engagement, and positive behaviour
- Building a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil and their family
- Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff
