The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, you’ll be responsible for leading the Building Technologies department and ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning and student achievement. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, managing and developing curriculum staff across Plumbing, Construction and Brickwork
- Working closely with senior leaders to shape and develop the curriculum offer
- Managing curriculum planning, staffing, timetabling and resources
- Driving improvements in teaching, learning and assessment through coaching and performance management
- Monitoring curriculum performance, learner outcomes and quality indicators
- Managing departmental budgets effectively
- Supporting employer engagement, marketing activities and student recruitment events
- Delivering approximately three hours of teaching each week
- Representing the organisation at internal and external events, including occasional evening and weekend commitments
- Promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement
About You
Tradewind Recruitment are looking to speak with experienced further education leaders who can demonstrate:
- A relevant teaching qualification and vocational specialism within Building Technologies
- Significant experience of delivering high-quality teaching within Further Education
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate, develop and inspire teams
- Experience leading curriculum quality, student progress, assessment and Internal Quality Assurance (IQA)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive improvement
- Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills
- A collaborative leadership style and genuine commitment to learner success
