Know the Role Inside Out

Before your interview, make sure you understand the responsibilities of an Exam Invigilator. Familiarise yourself with the exam procedures and regulations, as well as the importance of maintaining a calm environment for students. This knowledge will help you answer questions confidently and show that you're serious about the role.

Showcase Your Experience

If you've worked in a similar role before, be ready to share specific examples of your experience. Talk about how you handled challenging situations or ensured compliance with exam guidelines. If you don’t have direct experience, think about transferable skills from other jobs that demonstrate your ability to manage stress and support others.

Prepare Questions to Ask

Interviews are a two-way street, so prepare some thoughtful questions to ask your interviewer. Inquire about the training provided, the types of exams you'll be invigilating, or how they support their staff. This shows your interest in the position and helps you gauge if it's the right fit for you.

Dress Appropriately and Be Punctual

First impressions matter! Dress smartly and arrive on time for your interview. Being punctual demonstrates your reliability, which is crucial for a role that requires overseeing exams. Plus, it sets a positive tone for the rest of the meeting.
