About the Opportunity
A welcoming and supportive primary school in Northampton is seeking a dedicated Year 3 Teacher to join their team from November 2026 on a long-term maternity cover contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to take on a well-established Year 3 class and play a key role in supporting pupils as they continue their journey through Key Stage 2. The school is looking for a passionate and committed teacher who can deliver engaging lessons, maintain high expectations, and create a positive classroom environment where every child can thrive.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative staff team and benefit from strong support from the school's leadership and wider teaching team.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and well-structured lessons for a Year 3 class
Deliver the Key Stage 2 curriculum effectively across core and foundation subjects
Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs
Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
Maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning, and pupil achievement
Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and school leadership
Communicate effectively with parents and carers
Contribute positively to the wider life of the school
The Ideal Candidate
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally within Year 3
Has strong knowledge of the primary curriculum
Is confident in planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
Has excellent classroom xgikmsk and behaviour management skills
Is organised, enthusiastic, and committed to raising pupil achievement
Can build strong and positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents
Is able to commit to a long-term maternity cover position from November
