Residential Support Worker - Children & Young People Location: Kidderminster Job Type: Full-time / Part-time Driving Licence: Essential Make a real difference in a young person's life We are looking for caring, enthusiastic and reliable Residential Support Workers to join our team in Kidderminster, supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities within a residential setting. This is a rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will help create a safe, supportive and nurturing environment where the children and young people we support can develop their independence, confidence and life skills. The role As a Residential Support Worker, you will: Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people with additional needs. Support children with their daily routines, personal care and independence. Build positive, trusting relationships with the young people. Support activities, outings and recreational opportunities. Encourage communication, confidence and social development. Follow individual care and support plans. Work closely with colleagues, families and other professionals. Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming residential environment. Complete appropriate records and reports. Respond calmly and positively to challenging situations. Safeguard the welfare and wellbeing of the children and young people at all times. About you We are looking for someone who is: Caring, patient and compassionate. Reliable, responsible and committed to providing excellent care. Confident working with children and young people with additional needs. Able to communicate effectively and build positive relationships. Calm and confident when dealing with challenging behaviour. A good team player who is also able to work independently. Flexible and willing to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins where required. A full UK driving licence is essential for this position, as driving the children and young people to activities, appointments and outings will be part of the role.Previous experience working with children, young people, autism, learning disabilities or complex needs is desirable, but we are also interested in hearing from candidates who have the right attitude, values and willingness to learn.
