Role Overview
We are looking for a resilient and compassionate Key Stage 2 Teacher to join a specialist SEMH School in Blackburn. This is a unique opportunity to work within a highly supportive environment where class sizes are capped at 5 pupils, allowing for a truly nurturing and individualised approach to education. You will be teaching students who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, requiring a teacher who can balance academic progress with therapeutic support.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will lead a small class of up to 5 pupils, delivering a creative and engaging KS2 curriculum that is adapted to meet the diverse needs of each learner. You will be responsible for creating a safe and structured classroom environment where pupils feel empowered to overcome barriers to learning. A significant part of this role involves de-escalation, behaviour management, and emotional coaching, working closely with on-site Teaching Assistants and therapy teams to implement individual EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) goals.
Requirements
Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have a proven track record of teaching.
