About the Role

A full‑time, permanent role to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEN) in a welcoming primary school environment. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and the wider support team to provide high‑quality support for pupils with a range of SEN needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEN both in and out of the classroom.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and implement individual support strategies.
  • Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to support individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and support pupils' emotional and social development.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, learning resources, and daily routines.
  • Promote independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to support pupil progress.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Level2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school or similar setting.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting individual needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate about inclusive education.
