Do you have experience supporting students with special educational needs within a secondary school setting? Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants for a range of secondary schools across Islington. These positions offer the opportunity to work closely with students requiring additional support, helping them access learning and achieve their full potential.
The Role
- You will support students with a variety of needs, including Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language needs, and SEMH challenges.
- Working alongside teachers and SENCOs, you will provide both classroom and intervention support.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing tailored support to students with SEND
- Supporting students within mainstream lessons and small group settings
- Implementing EHCP targets and support strategies
- Building positive relationships with students and families
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and resilience
- Monitoring and recording student progress
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience supporting SEND students in a secondary setting
- Understanding of a range of additional needs
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
