1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Islington Agency: Tradewind Recruitment Location: Islington, North London Contract: Temporary Role: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with profound and multiple learning needs at an SEN school in Islington. The successful candidate will provide consistent, tailored support throughout the pupil's school day, working closely with the class teacher, wider school team and family to promote learning, development, inclusion and wellbeing. Key Responsibilities Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day, including lessons, outdoor activities, meals and school transitions. Support the pupil to access learning and participate fully in school life. Support the implementation of relevant aspects of the pupil's EHCP. Work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to implement strategies that support learning, communication and inclusion. Build a positive, trusting and professional relationship with the pupil. Promote the pupil's wellbeing, independence and development. Communicate appropriately with school staff and, where required, the pupil's family to help ensure consistent support. Contribute to a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment. Requirements Experience working with children in a primary school setting. Experience supporting children with SEND is desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils, families and colleagues. A patient, empathetic and supportive approach. An understanding of child development and the importance of individualised support. A commitment to promoting inclusion, wellbeing and positive learning experiences.
