This exciting opportunity is due to start immediately after half term on June 1st. Tradewind Recruitment, proudly recognised as one of The Sunday Times Top 100 Companies to Work For, is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a lovely mainstream primary school in Ipswich on a full-time basis. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and associated behavioural needs, helping them to engage positively with learning and thrive both academically and emotionally.

The school has a warm and welcoming feel, with a strong sense of community throughout. The Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, behavioural needs, or additional support needs
  • Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to remain resilient and professional in challenging situations
